PBS North Carolina and NCGS proudly present a Preview Screening of Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates Jr. & Virtual Discussion
This special event begins with a short preview screening of carefully curated clips from upcoming episodes of the NEW season of Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates Jr. In the upcoming eighth season, Professor Gates and his team explore the ancestry and family history of some of today’s most compelling personalities, including Regina King, Anita Hill, Raul Esparza, Erin Burnett, Amy Carlson, Tony Danza, Leslie Odom, Jr., Andre Leon Talley and others!
Following the screening, join PBS North Carolina for an engaging virtual discussion and Q&A featuring Wake County Register of Deeds, Tammy Brunner and Dr. Valerie Johnson, Dean at Shaw University. They will discuss the Enslaved Persons Project they oversee. Local genealogists and others will also join the conversation, moderated by PBS North Carolina’s Deborah Holt Noel, producer/director of North Carolina Weekend and Black Issues Forum.
