Getting Around Downtown Raleigh

Raleigh – By Foot or R-Line

Getting around downtown Raleigh during the conference is a breeze!

Raleigh is a very “walkable” city with moderate-length city blocks and wide sidewalks. A brisk-paced walk will bring you from the Convention Center to the North Carolina State Archives and state museums in less than 15 minutes!

The downtown area is also supported by the R-LINE, an eco-friendly approach to urban transportation. This FREE circulator service features hybrid electric buses that will connect you to restaurants, retail, entertainment venues, museums, hotels, and parking facilities in downtown Raleigh. Buses run approximately every 15 minutes with a stop in front of the Convention Center. Hop on for a quick trip to R1 for access to the State Archives and the Governor’s Mansion. After-hours, explore the Glenwood South District with scores of restaurants, or plan to visit the Museum of Modern Art, Joel Lane House, or the Raleigh City Museum. Two city parks at Nash or Moore Square provide a place to decompress after a full day of learning.

“Real-Time” projection access and a mobile app for information on restaurant, nightlife, and entertainment venues make using the R-Line a “snap!”
