Let’s Eat – Dining Out in Raleigh

Welcome to Raleigh! While your focus is genealogy during conference week, you will need to take a break from the lectures and your research to eat.

You will not go hungry! Raleigh, North Carolina, offers a large variety restaurants at all price points.

Looking for something quick (so you can get back to the conference or your research)? No problem.

Are you looking for something a little more upscale? We’ve got that.

If you are looking for some North Carolina barbecue (and you should!), we’ve got that, too.

How Do You Find The Restaurant Just For You

  • The Raleigh Visitor Information Center. Located at 500 Fayetteville Street, the Visitor’s Information Center is between the convention center and the Marriott City Center. The informative staff here will assist you in finding the restaurant of your choice.
  • Smartphone Apps
    • Yelp. Yelp will help you identify restaurant options based on, location, type, etc. Yelp will even provide directions to get you there.
    • CurEat App (iphone only). This new app will also help you identify local restaurants in the area.
  • Google Maps. Open up Google maps, type in your restaurant of choice, and Google maps will provide walking or driving directions.
  • Raleigh Restaurant Map. The downtown Raleigh restaurant map provided in your NGS conference bag is another great resource.
