While in Raleigh for the NGS 2017 Family History Conference, be sure to visit the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, which will be hosting The Race Exhibit. A project of the American Anthropological Association, the exhibit features stories of race from biological, cultural, and historical viewpoints. Viewing race from unique perspectives across the United States is a natural fit for genealogy researchers.
Are you coming to Raleigh early to research before the conference or staying after? The exhibit opens 22 April 2017 and runs through 4 September 2017. Admission to the museum and The Race Exhibit are free.
The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences is only a 12-minute walk from the convention center and sits next door to the North Carolina Museum of History. If you are unable to walk, the R line (free city bus) makes stops at the convention center and the Museum of History.
