About the Webinar:

The Special Collections Division at ECU holds a treasure-trove of materials to help with your family history search in North Carolina. This talk covers the types of resources found in the North Carolina Collection and the East Carolina Manuscripts Collection including family histories, county record abstracts and transcriptions, maps, diaries, letters, personal papers, and more. How to gain access to these materials will also be covered. No relationship to Blackbeard required.

About the Speaker:

Jennifer Crowder Daugherty holds her Bachelor’s of Art in English with a minor in Women’s Studies from Eastern Kentucky University. She obtained her Master’s in Library Science from Indiana University with a concentration in Archives and Records Management. Her career as a librarian/archivist spans over fifteen years, with the last five in her current position as the North Carolina Collection Librarian at Joyner Library, East Carolina University. At the beginning of 2023, she stepped into the role of president of the North Carolina Genealogical Society after serving on the board for several years.
