New Year Brings Changes to NCGS Memberships
As costs for printing and mailing the NCGS Journal and for general operations have increased substantially over the past five years, the Board made the difficult decision to raise membership dues beginning in 2022. Individual dues will increase $5 per year for new and renewing members on January 1st. You may want to consider renewing your membership before the end of the year to take advantage of the current rate, even if your membership hasn’t expired yet. Your renewal will be added to the end of your current membership.
The Family Membership plan is being eliminated, as there are no longer any special benefits to this plan. If you have a current Family Membership, it will continue to be active until your membership expires and you may then renew your membership with an Individual plan. An Individual membership will allow you to purchase up to two discounted tickets for events.
A new membership designed for North Carolina Genealogical and Historical Societies will be available next year. The new plan will provide special benefits and improve communication with member societies. Watch for an announcement when this becomes available next year!

Looking for a special gift for someone interested in genealogy? Purchase a NCGS gift membership in the NCGS online store! No waiting for something to arrive in the mail. After purchasing the gift membership, you will download a Certificate to print and give the recipient. The Certificate can be redeemed for a membership online or by mail.
