Do you know a great NC genealogy book that was published between August 15, 2022 and August 15, 2023? Do you think your society’s newsletter or journal deserves some recognition? Do you know someone who has made an outstanding contribution to North Carolina genealogy or perhaps to NCGS?
The deadline for the North Carolina Genealogical Society Awards is August 15th. We offer these annual awards to recognize and encourage contributors to North Carolina genealogy. The awards criteria is available at https://www.ncgenealogy.org/awards/. You’ll find the nomination form at the bottom of the page.
Categories include:
- The Award for Excellence in Periodical Publishing. Given in two categories: newsletter and journal.
- The Award for Excellence in Web Presence
- The Award for Excellence in Publishing. Given in three distinct categories: 1. A book, or a set of books, of abstracts or transcriptions of an original North Carolina record. 2. A publication relevant to North Carolina genealogy. 3. A book of family history relevant to North Carolina.
- The Award for Outstanding Contribution to North Carolina Genealogy
- The Award for Outstanding Contribution to NCGS by a Member
We encourage you to nominate others or yourself. Winners are recognized at the annual meeting and receive a plaque.
