Enjoy an evening banquet with Randell Jones

The NCGS Fall Conference is coming up on November 1-2 and we would love to see you there! Over the coming weeks we will share our top 5 reasons for attending the conference. We’ll also add in some of our best tips for getting the most out of your conference experience.

One of this year’s exciting events is an evening banquet with Randell Jones. This is the perfect place to gather and talk with like-minded genealogists and you’ll be entertained with lively stories of Daniel Boone as told by Mr. Jones.

Randell Jones is an award-winning author and storyteller. He is the author of In the Footsteps of Daniel Boone and Before They Were Heroes at Kings Mountain as well as other books about the frontier era and the American Revolution. Most of his books feature historical aspects of North Carolina. Randell has received two Kentucky History Awards from the Kentucky Historical Society for his publication son the life of Daniel Boone and America’s commemoration of Boone’s legacy. He is an invited member of the Road Scholars Speakers Bureau of the North Carolina Humanities Council and he was the recipient of the 2013 National History Award Medal presented by the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution for his body of work during the prior ten years. Randell lives in Winston-Salem with his wife. They have two grown daughters and two grandchildren.

During the banquet, Randell will present revealing episodes from the life of the legendary American hero, Daniel Boone, during his twenty-one years in North Carolina. Those years, 1750-1771, include when Boone married and lived in the Yadkin River Valley during the French and Indian War.

You will come away from this delightful evening having experienced history truly come to life through Randell’s thorough research and genuine enthusiasm for North Carolina and its many amazing stories.
